We believe that children are a precious gift from God. We value each of them as unique and special. Our children's ministries are designed to teach the Word build self-esteem, and to express God's love through the service of dedicated teachers, leaders, and helpers who possess a true desire to minister to all children.
We emphasize "fun" learning through guided activities. We want children to discover for themselves the truths of scripture and to experience the love of Christ through our example. All curriculums used for ministry purposes are from well-known Christian publishing companies (Standard, Group, Harvest, etc.).
NURSERY: Newborn thru 1 year
For the youngest children, our goal is to become an extension of the home, providing quality care in a secure, safe environment. The nursery is designed for babies newborn thru their first year. Parent and student volunteers who are willing and qualified to serve and provide child and nursery care each week for Worship and Sunday School.
PRESCHOOL: 2 and 3 year olds
During worship services preschoolers are encouraged to be active and social with each other while at play in the Preschool room under thewatch of parent volunteers, who are members of Hope.
CHILDREN'S CHURCH: Children 4 years thru 5th grade
Children are asked to sit with their parent(s) during the first 15-20 minutes of the worship services. Afterwards, they are dismissed for their own age appropriate worship time referred to as Children's Church. This time together is spent developing an understanding of who God is and learning why He loves us so. Parent volunteers, who are members of Hope, lead Children's Church.
SUNDAY SCHOOL:
2 and 3 year olds: Because these children are excited to learn about God and His love for them, our Sunday school hour is a formal teaching time providing simple biblical truths using curriculum for preschoolers.
4 year olds through Kindergarten: The Sunday school hour focuses on teaching these little ones basic information about God. He made the world; He cares for all people; He forgives when wrong is done; etc. These children are able to memorize God's Word themselves. Age appropriate curriculum is used.
Elementary (1st –5th grade): Age appropriate classes encourage children to "dig" into the Bible for themselves and to make application to their own lives. As they progress through the grades, the curriculum shifts from biblical stories to more topical issues.
ADVENTURE CLUB: Kindergarten thru 5th grade
A weekly club ministry, which uses character lessons, Bible memory, skill development, and crafts to promote maturing Christian faith in children. Adventure Club runs September through May. Membership is $20 per child with a $50 family maximum. Scholarships are available. Parental involvement is encouraged but not required.
